1.
A thanksgiving without family I met you at a table of friends I was closed and raw emotionally Seemed this heaviness might never end You kept smiling in a sweet shy way Then you said something so damn silly I eyes caught the same sun ray We were too unknowing still I knew, I knew, I knew you before I knew, I knew, I knew you Yea, you feel like home Baby, you feel like home Yea, you feel like home to me By the ocean wrapped under the stars dissolving you and me into the air and sky above A discovery of who we are Such a mystery love And I knew, I knew, I knew you before I knew, I knew, I knew you Yea you feel like home Baby, you feel like home Yea, you feel like home to me
2.
Cowgirl 03:41
Fine young cowgirl living a life humbly Use to ride up on the western front Wild horses and fields of green Living life like a stream Every Sunday, we would play by the big oak tree She’d ride into town with a stack of daisies Stories told, hands hold, ring of rosie All fall down, laughing and rollin around Every Sunday, we would play by the big oak tree She’d ride into town with a stack of daisies Stories told, hands hold. ring of rosie All fall down, laughing and rollin around Stopped dead in our tracks Church bells in the air Cowgirls hands tied behind her back Big Buckles Sunday dress Hate in their eyes Silver in hand Oh, Yellin so loud I heard nothing

Let me Think 03:14
Like a steamin locomotive train He only said, over and over this one word chain Let me think about it Let me think about it baby Let me think about it Is all he ever said Nothing grew, nothing changed Once this way, always the same Nothing, nothing Once this way, always the same Nothing grew, nothing changed Once this way always the same same, same I knew he was thinkin’ an absent blank stare keepin’ so busy connected no where His mind took over I tried to get thru he was so hooked rather think than do Let me think about it Let me think about it baby Let me think about it Is all he ever said knew he was thinkin’ an absent blank stare keepin’ so busy connected no where His mind took over I tried to get thru he was so hooked rather think than do rather think than do Well I gotta do Even if it’s without you Gotta grow, something’s changed Gotta grow, something’s changed

Time's gone by I breathe another red sigh I've been drifting, living a lie Storms rising up inside For a long, long time Is there someone who sees I've been burnin' in a red freeze Feel no gift, my spirit flees Lay me down in the breeze Such a low, low, time A wave washes over me I'm awake subtlely Going in just to be Here's a chance to be free Here's a chance to be free Time's gone by I breathe another red sigh I've been drifting living a lie Storms rising up inside For a long, long time A wave washes over me I'm awake finally Headed out just to be Here's a chance to be free Here's a chance to be free I want to be free Live a life that's good inside I want to be free Sail, soar, accept the ride I want to be free and easy Gonna take a chance

about

Laurie Raveis / 101, released Oct 2013, comprises six textural, lyrical landscapes and honest, heart diving original tunes. Laurie sings and plays acoustic, electric, high octave, baritone, 12 string and sitar guitar. She is joined by Matt Smith; producer, bass & lap steel; Bryan Austin drums and David Webb; keyboards.

"Thanksgiving" is a beautifully crafted story with a catchy pre-chorus and emotionally uplifting chorus. "Cowgirl" takes a twist from the simple joys of childhood freedom underlined by a country double feel beat, to a harsh reality exposed reminiscent of Pink Floyd. The rock girl empowerment anthem, "Hey Girls" is a driving force with a vocals/boogaloo breakdown for an added 'umph' - to do your thing! "Just Begun" is a relaxed, island feel with the ease and excitement of a new relationship contrasted by the untimely mourning of it's sweet and ultimate end. Blues rock number "Let me think" uncovers the thinkers from the doers and gives way to a breaking point of the relationship. " Here's a Chance" is a folk rock tune that visits the past and builds with passion to reclaim life and oneself.

Laurie Raveis also performs as 'Raveis Kole' (raveiskole.com) with guitarist, Dennis Kole.

Raveis Kole’s upcoming Summer Album Release, "Electric Blue Dandelion,” will feature lyrical heart, driving rhythms of rock, reggae and latin based beats with an open, airy feel of Debussy chordal progressions intermixed with both western and eastern scales. "Electric Blue Dandelion" will feature some of their most popular performance songs: "Holding Onto a Rainbow", "Dawn Breaks Through" and "Fearless," as well as a top secret surprise offering. Shh!

Laurie Raveis was the 2014 Berklee Online Scholarship winner at Crown of the Continent Guitar Workshop and Festival in Big Fork, Montana. This winter, she volunteered as a band coach and guitar instructor at Bellingham Girls Rock Camp.
